When you need to write on a PDF

Printing a PDF form, filling it in by hand and scanning it again takes time. With this tool you can type straight onto the PDF and submit it by email or upload.

  • Fill in your name, address and date on applications and official forms
  • Add a guardian’s name and contact details to school documents
  • Add an addressee or notes to quotes and invoices
  • Tick boxes with “✓” or circle options with “〇”
  • Write vertically in vertical Japanese forms

Vertical Japanese writing is supported

Many Japanese forms have vertical fields. Choose “Vertical (Japanese)” and characters run top to bottom, with extra lines added right to left. The long vowel mark (ー) and brackets are turned sideways, and punctuation (、。) and small kana such as っ and ゃ are placed where they belong in vertical text.

Handy features

Quick insert

Insert “✓”, “〇” or today’s date in two formats with one tap.

Edit and move later

Drag text to adjust its position, and tap it to change the text, size or color. Remove it with “×”.

Write on several pages

Switch pages to add text to more than one page. Text with line breaks is added as several lines.

About the added text

The text you add is placed on the PDF as real text. Only the characters you use from the BIZ UD Gothic / BIZ UD Mincho fonts are embedded, so files stay small and look the same on any computer or phone, and the text can be selected, copied and searched later. The original PDF’s text and images stay as they are.

Choose between BIZ UD Gothic and BIZ UD Mincho. On PDFs with form fields, text is placed on top of the page rather than typed into the fields.
