When page numbers help
Long documents such as theses, reports, meeting materials and proposals are easier to use with page numbers. You can say “see page 5”, and printed pages stay in order. You can also add numbers after merging PDFs or combining scanned documents.
Settings you can choose
Position
Bottom center, right or left, or top center, right or left.
Format
Choose from “1”, “1 / 10”, “- 1 -” and “Page 1”.
Start number and cover page
You can change the start number, for example to continue numbering from another document. Tick “Don’t number the first page (cover)” and numbering starts from page 2.
Rotated pages are numbered correctly
Even on pages with a rotation setting, the number is placed upright in the right position for reading. The original text and images aren’t changed; the number is simply added on top of the page.
Tidy up before numbering
It’s best to fix page order, orientation and unwanted pages before adding numbers.
Your files are never uploaded
Your PDF isn’t uploaded to a server; it’s processed in your browser.
Works on a phone
In iPhone and Android browsers, choose your settings and tap the button to add numbers.
